Logging Speeds

The tools are run at speeds that vary from 4.5 to 9.0 metres per minute depending on borehole conditions and the type of tool. The logging systems are completely digital and therefore do not use time constants. The sections of boreholes that require detailed data are logged in the same run, with extra downstream data processing producing expanded logs. Therefore, there is no need to relog the sections at a slower speed. The scales for any parameter measured, including depth, can be varied to any configuration in the field.

This allows full completion of a borehole in a fraction of the time compared to many of Groundsearch Australia’s competitors. The old adage of ‘time is money’ is very true in the mining industry, Groundsearch Australia strives to minimise rig downtime every time we mobilise from base.
